A Christmas message from me to you…

As 2015 comes to an end I just wanted to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.

I also want to thank all my readers, to those that comment and those who just like to read about what’s happening in my always interesting life.

Thanks to all the businesses that have added your own business to my Business Directory, it continues to grow each week.

I have had a wonderful year, always surrounded by my beautiful friends and family, I welcomed my first grandson Kai, have had visitors and travelled.

I’m looking forward to my usual Turkey dinner on Christmas eve with my family and as always waking up at the crack of dawn just like big kids to open presents on Christmas morning.

So a BIG thank you to everyone and all my love and I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for me!

The last SINers lunch of 2015

I went to the Successful Sunset International Neighbours lunch this Monday commemorating Christmas and over 25 years of friendship.

We created this group of friends and meet once a month in each other’s homes bringing a plate of food to share and catch up.

We are to each other’s a friend, family and really best mates.

To me the SINers are my family in OZ.

My grandson and some other grandchildren came to join us. We had a fantastic spread and Jean Doig was a great hostess.

It’s a small World and six degrees of separation is now next door!

I was just watching some mind numbing TV at home one night after dinner when I received a call from my neighbour in the street behind me inviting me to come over and meet someone.

When I arrived they were entertaining a few people and they took me over to this silvery haired guy who was none other than Dr MD Patel, the Dr that delivered my daughter Nikky in Nairobi, Kenya over 31 years ago!

What an emotional moment for me, I just couldn’t believe it.

I called my husband Mike to speak with Dr Patel over the phone and Mike said his voice had not changed at all and is exactly the way he remembers him sounding.

To make things more weird than it already was Dr Patel is staying at the next door house to me who is owned by another Dr from Kenya who are also my friends.

Of course I had to take a picture!

What a small World! And what a great Christmas present for me to meet Doctor Patel again!

I have a baby in the house…

My house looks like a playground now that my daughter, her hubby and baby Kai have moved in with us.

I am a Real Estate Agent and now a happy grandmother with a 6 Month old grandson to show around whenever I want now that he is in the same house.

Who knows? Soon Kai will be helping me with my “home opens”? At least he will entertain the prospective buyers with lots of smiles!

Such a bundle of joy to see him grow each day and hear all is cute little sounds. I am so lucky and proud of my little grandson.

It won’t be long now and he will have me running after him, but I can’t wait!

A full family fun house, makes me very happy!

I have been having a ball for the past 3 weeks as my niece has flown in from Brazil to stay with us for a week and a half and her son and his girlfriend who live on the Gold Coast have also joined us.

Add my kids and partner’s and baby Kai, and it’s a full house again… Just the way I like it!

It’s hard to believe that Iremar and her son Bernardo were here just 5 years ago for Nikky’s wedding but it was lovely to finally meet his girlfriend Marianne.

We have been to the City and Fremantle, Ive taken them to Mundaring Weir, King’s Park and we even had a full day out to the Pinnacle’s which was very fun.

Apart from the sightseeing there has been plenty of cooking and eating with everyone getting their hands dirty to learn and cook popular Brazilian delights.

Bernardo and his girlfriend unfortunately only stayed a little while but had to head back to the Gold Coast due to study and work commitments but Iremar and myself had a few lovely days catching up and doing the usual things such as shopping.

I am now in Queensland on the Gold Coast to attend Bernardo’s Graduation for University and to become a tourist myself because believe it or not, but I have never been here.

Having an absolute ball and I am back in Perth next week and sad to say my goodbyes but we will see each other again soon, I’m sure!

Remembering the old time’s while babysitting my grandson for the first time!

My daughter decided to take up a part time job doing some photography, which I have to thank her best friend for putting her onto it and as she was in the neighbourhood doing her work she asked me to look after my 3 month old Grandson, Kai Alexander the super duper most loving child that I am head over heels for.

Of course my only answer was YYYYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!

While it was only for just less than an hour I brushed off my Portuguese endearment words on him, sung some Brazilian songs and some French songs which really made him laugh and totally enjoyed his company.

It was an hour of pleasure, relaxation and pure novelty. And obviously I had to take a “selfie” of us.

I can’t wait to do that again! I love being a nanny!

Watch this spot!

I sold this lovely elevated spot at 73 Campbell Drive, Hillarys that had a 3×1  huose to Shivani and Anish which I was able to rent out for 6 months while the plans were being drawn up.

Broadway Home is building a massive home for them and it is going to be fantastic!

I cannot wait to see the finished home and I will be very proud to look at it and think that I was involved to make that happen!

Enjoy your future dream home! You and your little family deserve all your hard work to make this happen.

Welcoming Kai to the S.I.N.ers Club

This last Monday we the S.I.N.ers had our usual monthly lunch and my daughter brought her little man who is now 10 weeks old to introduce to my very special friends.

The S.I.N.ers Club is now 25 years old and during all these years we have been meeting every Month for a fabulous lunch in each other’s home.

This time we not only commemorate our friendship but also Mother’s Day and Marion Ross’s birthday. We always have a Birthday to commemorate every month and the friendship with Marion is one that I honour and am very proud of. We are each other’s family.

The S.I.N.ers name was chosen by Pauline who sadly passed away a few years back but we all remember her and how clever she was to suggest such a perfect name: S.I.N.ers which means: Sunset International Neighbours.

Hillarys Wellness Expo this weekend and Hillarys Boat Harbour

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend and didn’t over do it on the chocolate and food but managed to enjoy your long weekend with your loved ones!

My nephew is obviously still too young to enjoy the fun of Easter and chocolate but it makes me look forward to when he can as my kids are way too old for an Easter Egg Hunt.

What are your plans for this weekend with the kids at home on school holidays? Why not take them to the Hillarys Wellness Expo this weekend and Hillarys Boat Harbour.

In their FIFTH YEAR at Hillarys Boat Harbour A THREE DAY Health & Wellness Expo which is hosted in the months of April & November of each year.

Open on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April from 9am to 5:00pm with free entry there is lots to see and do and keep the kids occupied.

Do some laughing yoga, check out a concert or see a performance and get your face painted!

Fun for the whole family!

Guess what? I’m a Nanny!

Kai Alexander De Oliveira was born at 2:33am on Friday 6th March (his actual due date) weighing 3.29kg and 50 cms long.

I used to be jealous of all my friends and all their stories of their grandkids but not anymore!

Keep an eye out on many grandchildren stories that will somehow make it to my posts  I’m sure as I’m so proud of my daughter Nikky and her husband Danilo just as they are amazed at their talent to make this gorgeous little guy.

Has been a pleasure to receive this tiny little bundle of joy and oh my how are we all absolutely smitten with his arrival.

I had my whole family for dinner on Wednesday night and already we are all in love with our new family member and passed him around making goo goo eyes and noises not wanting to pass him along or back.

So now, not only will I be known as Mum but as Nanny as well and Mike has decided he would be happy to be called Poppy.

Now Merv is an uncle and hopefully he will decide to be a Daddy too.

Also a little bit of trivia, did you know that your nieces and nephews are also known as Niblings? Cute huh!
